A stroll down memory lane...

I can not believe our little Gavin will be here before we know it. I came across some picture cd's of tyler when he came into this world. Tyler is now going to be a big brother. We are going to be new parents again. Wow! To be honest I'm nervous. We have to start from scratch again. From the first poo poo, to the umbilical cord falling off, to eating rice cereal, to eating solid food...I think we will be okay. Here is a picture of John and I being new parents to our little 20 minute old baby boy Tyler. Never have we both experienced instant love like that before. As soon as he popped out and we saw his face. Love. Love. Love. Love. I cried. I just could not believe that he was finally here on earth with us. Now We are going to be doing it again real soon. I can't wait for Gavin to be here.

I don't think babies look all that cute when they are first born...I mean look at poor Tyler. He looks like he got beat up in a Rocky movie or something. He had a little cone head too! That's what happend when you push with all your might, and then have to wait 45 minutes for the doctor to catch your baby because she's in traffic. Stupid nurse said I would be pushing for 2 hours. Try 6 pushes, poor Tyler was squished in the birth canal getting all coney. Okay nurse what's with all that eye medicine...I think you went a little over kill, don't ya think so? Can you tell I could not STAND my nurse.

Watch out John!

So Sunday afternoon I was beat. Just from being tired, heat, sick, pregnant...I thought I was gonna enjoy a nice little nap with no disturbance BUT...

Nice I know... me cuddling up next to the cape crusader and covering myself with tyler's "cars" blanket. See John, I like to cuddle!!! Batman doesn't mind.

sick-o!

So I went to Urgent care on Monday to find out for sure what I had. Because I knew it wasn't just a "cold". I was coughing up some nice green stuff. (Sorry for those with weak stomachs). So of course we wait for an hour. Get roomed, wait for 15 minutes. And BAM! This person who looked like a doctor, spun around me, said somethings, scibbled some things...and then he was gone. I was told I had bronchitis "kiddo". I looked at John and started laughing. He was perplexed to see why I was laughing. I said, "the doctor was in the room for like a mintue. He checked my ears, said good. He checked my thorat, said good. Listen to my chest and back, said bronchits." I asked the doctor about my ears, because I had a feeling that they were retracted or something. He said yeah your right. Then why didn't he tell me that, when he looked at them? Don't ask , don't tell rule I guess. He put me on Zithromax and said I can take Sudafed plain for the decongestant, and Robitussin DM name brand (does he have a deal with robitussin or something, because CVS brand seems fine with me and my wallet) for my coughing. I was so bummed. I only take a tylenol IF I have to. Now I have to take a antibiotic. I was not gonna do the sudafed thing cause it makes me jittery...and like robitussin works anyway.

So then I see my OB doctor on tuesday. She feels bad for me and tells me I need to rest. Because we don't want this to turn into pneumonia. HECK NO WE DON'T!! Then she noticed that my white blood cells were elevated from my pee test (sorry again, but important for the story line) and places me on Keflex for 7 days. She called me her little petri dish. How cute.

I am never sick, maybe a cold twice a year...maybe. Now I am on 2 antibiotics in my last 2 months of being pregnant. If you know me, you know I don't want to take anything. But I know if I don't, it will hurt Gavin. And that is not happening. So I suffer. Poor me. I know. I'm trying all these home therapies for headaches, congestion...just reading up on my pregnancy bible. What to expect when you are expecting. I guess I should have expected to get sick while I'm expecting!

Long nice trip to Santa Maria...

John had a race in Santa Maria on Saturday. John, Tyler and I along with John's parents and brother headed up for a nice break from Riverside heat. For some reason, everytime I wanted to take a picture, either the camera was at the hotel OR it was in the video camera bag OR it was charging OR the battery wasn't put back in...So I snapped this on the way home of Tyler. His eyes say it all in this picture on what a long drive. We had to tow a trailer, so it took us a little longer. But actually the way John and his dad drove...I don't know if that really matters. I had to remind John a few times he wasn't in his go kart anymore!!
Anyway, we gained a few days of nice weather. And I gained something extra...a nice virus, bronchitis.

4th of July

So John and I headed down to san clemente pier with Tyler to see the fireworks. Tyler is now obsessed with the beach. Park and Beach are words that need to be spelled out in our house now, or he will whine until no tomorrow to go there.

People thought we were gonna hit traffic, find no parking, but it wasn't a problem at all. It actually took us 40 minute with the toll road to head down there. And John knew of a great residential area that he used to go and check the surf when he lived in south oc. So we found a perfect parking spot and headed down to the sand. John asked if I could stand the walk down. It was a gradual steep hill with 3 sets of stairs. I said of course. It was they way up I knew would be fun! Twice. We went up and down twice. Why? I don't know.

We found a great place on the sand to watch the fireworks and Tyler enjoyed watching everyone shoot off illegal fireworks while we waited for the real show. He also love throwing the sand on the blanket (crunch crunch) which ended up in john's mouth and mine!

After it was over we headed up. It was pitch dark and everyone else was smart enough to bring flashlights. Us? We used our digital camera! I even accidentaly took a picture of my toes. Now that was a fun walk. I had to go up a little hill, down big huge rocks, over the train tracks, up big huge rocks and, whew I made it. With flip flops on too. Almost 8 months pregnant. Now we had the big walk up the gradually steep hill with 3 sets of stairs. That nice little adventure brought on some braxton hicks contractions, but hey it was and adventure!!

Anyhoo, here are some pictures...

Tyler was all over the place until the show started. Then he was like this for 40 minutes.

What a spontaneous day!

John is spontaneous. Sometimes not always a great thing. But today it was. We decided to head down where it was cooler and chill. Not knowing it would take an hour and a half to do so. Stupid traffic. We both remember back in the day when it use to take like 35-45 minutes...
We had fun. I was nervous on the other hand. I have this fear that a huge wave is gonna grab tyler and swallow him. John says it's my own personal fear, he's right. Tyler has been to the beach before when he was younger. It was funny, when the tide came in he would make sure to touch the water. And we all know when each tide comes in your feet kinda get stuck in the sand, tyler never wanted his feet out of the sand. We joked that he was gonna get bit by a sand crab. Me on the other hand since I'm a little out of porportion (big belly) I had to watch it when my feet sunk. I am surprised that I didn't eat it.
I had another fear, that water would get in his ears since he has tubes. I, being the overly protected mom brought his swimplugs "just in case". John said we wouldn't need them. Again, he was right. See, John is a "pro" he has had multiple tubes when he was young so "he knows". I just on the other hand work for a ear nose throat doctor that's all!

I know John would like his son to be at the beach more since he lived and surfed when he was younger and up until we moved back to riverside. But maybe it will happen. It probably will what am I saying.

Always close the baby powder

Because if you don't and happen to dissappear for a minute or two to use the bathroom, this is what happens. I walk into what I thought was our living room, but I wasn't sure since I couldn't see anything except for white powder in the air. I ask tyler what he had done. (stupid question). He says, "mama...no worky (as he is shaking the EMPTY baby powder bottle)...powder?" Oh no tyler it did work just fine son...cough cough. Reason #598 why I love my tyler!

The meaning of being close

So as I was getting ready Thursday morning for work, I hear this dragging noise. I'm thinking to myself, "what on earth is that?" The moment I finish my thought and turn around, I see this. Tyler dragging his table from his room. I ask him what he is doing. He smiles and says, "table!" (but of course in toddler language). He runs off. I get up to see if John saw this, and he is laughing in bed. Tyler comes back with one of the chairs. Runs off again. By this time I sit back down to continue to get ready. Yup, I guessed it. He brought the other chair in. Runs off one more time. Comes back with a handful of his cars. He sits down and plays while mommy gets ready. He just wanted to be close to me I guess. Reason #758 why I love my Tyler!

Memorial Day

So yesterday was Memorial Day and John, Tyler and I went to the Riverside National Cemetary to check out his grandpa's site and my dad's site. It was pretty cool to see american flags flying everywhere in honor of all the veterns. Some markers didn't have any flags, I don't know if certian sections were sponsored with flags or what. Because all the american flags that are placed on each gravesite are donated, nothing is given by the government (surprising?). It was cool to see that my dad's and John's grandpa's section was blanketed with the american flag. It's pretty ironic that John's grandpa and my dad were in the same tech 5 in the US army. We both don't know what that means though. I'm sure tech 5 was a big group. We often wonder if they knew each other.
Tyler was enjoying all the flags and all the motorbikes that were going by. He saw a marker without a flag and put a flag we brought on the gravesite. So precious.
I was telling him about my dad, his "pappy" and how proud pappy would have been of him. When we were leaving I said to say bye to pappy...he kissed his hand and said "muah" on his gravesite. I tell ya, just when you think your kid doesn't really understand, he does.
John's grandpa's gravesite is like 7 rows over...they died within a month in a half of each other.

The big D!

SO we went to Disneyland (love having passes) on Sunday afternoon. Had a blast. You think I would have a boring time at the big D being with child. But I went on every ride. Well of course they were the kiddie rides like Mr. Heimlichs choo choo train at California adventure. We also went to the tiki room. Huge favorite amoungst the little one. But it was fun!

We actually saw the parade. I always think this is a great time to go on rides, but we knew Tyler would love to see it. He is a crack up. Pluto, Peter Pan, Goofy, dancers would come by him and he would just stare. They would pat him on his head or put their big huge puffy white disney hand out for a hand shake or high five and he would just stare. The other kid next to him got all the love. Oh well. I guess he was taking it all in!! At the end Mickey and Minnie kissed. It was special, I actually got teary eyed. No joke. Remember I'm pregnant, I'm emotional. I had to get a picture of the lovely couple.

Another beautiful wedding this year!

This past Saturday many people got married and I was at one of many. John's cousin Becky married Joe in Dana Point at the Chart House. It was such a sweet ceremony, pastor Shiloh did a great job and John and I are happy for both Becky and Joe as they start their lives together. Oh by the way, Tyler was the ringbearer. He broke his rose boutinaire (sp?) as soon as we put it on him. He wouldn't go down the aisle by himself, so yours truely had to escort him down. He would only sit still in his seat if we fed him scooby snacks. Overall, it was great!!

Congrats Becky and Joe Pun!

Tyler's own theatre room

So tyler loves to watch "Schek" (which is Shrek), "Monkey" or "George" (which is Curious George), "Tiger" (which is Madagascar--go fig, it's a lion but he calls it a tiger). As seen here he eats his apples and has some juice for a movie time snack! This is how I watch all my tivo shows!

A little shout out...

John just had a race last weekend in Rosamond, Ca...yeah I don't know exactly where it is either. He finished sixth, and he got his name published in a paragraph about his class on ekartingnews.com...

"In S4 Light racing it looked that Utah's Patrick Cushenberry appeared to have a lock on the competition...... Andrew Quackenbush, Jeff Smith, Willy Musgrave and John Cram were within seconds of the leading pair waiting to capitalize on any mistake. Zirkle made no mistakes."

So I just had to brag, that's all.

Yup...still sick...

So we went to the docs today and the VERDICT: Chronic Tonsillitis. Tyler's Bronchitis isn't so bad, well he said his lungs sound clear. But I still continue the breathing treatments and he switched him to Zithromax. Now that's some powerful drug. I know this has to kick it. I didn't even want to ask him how many more times before his tonsils come out. I'm in denial. Because he has had tonsillits at least 2 times this year. And last year...4-5 times...oh boy!

Boogity Boogity

That's how I feel...Tyler takes the words right out of my mouth. But it's cuter when he says it. He is still sick. Tonsillitis and Bronchitis. I have been faithful giving him his Keflex and breathing treatments. We're going to the docs again, maybe to switch antibiotics. He has been on this one since last Monday and he runs a 101 fever. I feel so bad for our little guy. It's been 2-1/2 weeks of this stuff. He has this little raspy voice and coughs like he's been smoking for years. In the middle of the night he coughs, he doesn't sleep, he coughs. If you are a parent you know how that just crushes your heart to hear that through the baby monitor. If I had the powers to do it, I would take it away from him and give it to John. I would give it to me, but I'm pregnant and that would suck being pregnant and having a fever, or not being able to take antibiotics for something. John would understand. =)
We finally got to go to church on Sunday with him, but who knows about this sunday. That's another bum thing, I miss church. I get inspired and pumped after Sunday, it really gets me through my week. Please pray for John and I to get us through the week. Please pray for my health, because I am pregnant and SHOCKED that I haven't picked it up. Did I mention my mother-in-law has a bad case of bronchitis too. It is amzing that I'm still well. I have been out of work too a lot to take care of my little patient as well. But I don't mind that, he needs his mama.

Mr. T is mine

Still have him. J Rocka, if you ever want to see your Mr. T again...I suggest you bring over $1,000 of unmarked bills to my house. Just kidding. He's in my purse. He comes in handy when we're at the doctors, or in the car, or at Target. Everytime he picks him up he trys talking like him in that "Mr. T" mean-fast-talking- vocie. Very cute.

Love him...love love love him

He is such a wonderful husband and outstanding father. I am blessed. You all should be jealous. Okay don't be jealous, because that's not nice. Just bragging I guess.

Take me out to the ball game

So we got to go to the Angel game on Saturday. It was something fun for us to do, that's the way I look at it since the angels's aren't so hot right now. But I still wore my angel jersey. The best part was seeing tyler have fun. Here are some photos about the bottom of the 6th, where he knows the white socks are killing the angels and he can go ahead and fool around with daddy's hat.

I live on the party block

We moved in September of 2005. November of 2005 we had one our NEW neighbors throw a party like going to 1am. John wanted to complain, but I begged him not to since we were the only ones on the block (can't be sneaky). Then same neighbors had another one months later, other neighbors have some and it goes on and on...I have no problem with some party time, Dj's, jumpers. That's all good in the hood. I can't stand it because I picked the wrong room for Tyler to sleep in. His window is right there amongst the bumping music. Like right now it's 10pm at night. There's kids running down the street. There's kids jumping in this castle jumper. There is currently a hip hopping dance floor (with lights) in their garage spinning, "Move your body girl..." Our homes are so close together it's ridiculous. Are these people unaware of this? There are 2 houses down from me. There is no shame in their game I guess.
The way John and I look at it is, if Tyler can sleep through it, then great. But he's not right now. He keeps on waking up. I did leave out he sleeps with a box fan in his room too. So yeah, he shouldn't be hearing anything except for a jet airplane. So you know that music is bumping! When is the time limit to reduce noise for parties? How long can they drag this on? Am I old? Yes, probably. But, Tyler needs to get to bed now, not listen to the mac-a-rana!!!
